Our Boys

I decided this year to only buy a very basic package of school pictures because they cost a lot and very few of the pics get handed out other than to family.  I thought I would take their pics to hand out to family this year.  It was a challenge since they both don't want to take their pictures.  Phillip and Dad helped out getting them to smile.  Tanner took the pics of Phillip and me.  Phil took the one of me.  Oh, yeah, and our "daughter" had to be in the pics as well!  Great pics Pixie!

Pumpkin Patch

We recently took the grandbabies to the pumpkin patch and had a blast.  We took a hay ride to the patch where the girls picked out their pumpkins.  This is when I miss my kids being little but am thankful we have the granddaughters to take.  I love it when they get to come to our house to trick-or-treat.  They probably won't get to this year since Halloween is on a Sunday.  I think Halloween should be set as the last Saturday in October.  That way, the kids (and parents) have Sunday to recoup from the sugar high as well as the excitement.

I took some pictures of the granddaughters. It was a hot day but the girls cooperated most of the time. 

10 Silly Things I Do

This idea came from Trish at Me and My Boys blog. 
1)  I sleep on the side of the bed away from the door.  It doesn't matter if it is the left or right, just so a burgler would get Phillip first.  I know, that is mean! 
2)  I start drying my hair on each side, then flip my hair over and dry the underneath. 
3)  I sleep better on my right side...probably why my hair is thinner on that side. 
4)  I prefer to wear shoes
5)  I like my silverware put in the drawer straight and neat but never get it that way anymore as the boys put the silverware away. 
6)  I know if I don't have every sheet and blanket on me
7)  I arrange my silverware at a resturant in it's proper place around the plate, if they come rolled up in a napkin
8)  I eat popsicles like others drink water (quoted by Phil)
9)  I like to set on the left side of the couch and hate it when someone is in that spot. 
10)  I usually set with my feet to the right side of me or one foot under my other leg.

Microburst

We had a microburst this morning at 4 am.  It broke a tree in half, picked it up, and threw it on top of the double wide we rent out.  It rolled our metal shed into a crumpled up ball.  We spent from 6:30am until 12:30 pm cutting and picking up the tree debris.  We also had to pull the shed apart and haul it off.  The tree poked two holes in the ceiling of the living and dining room.  We are just thankful no one was hurt.
